“Resistance is futile.” This is what the Borg in the Star Trek universe are always telling the people of the civilizations that they are seeking to assimilate into their collective. I love this phrase because I feels true to me, but not in the sense that the Borg mean it, which is basically, “Stop fighting because we are superior to you and we are going to assimilate (absorb) your species into our collective organism through overwhelming numbers, advanced technology, and intellectual superiority.

What I mean by the phrase is a bit different. What I am talking about is the recognition that I am one with everything and everyone throughout the cosmos, and all of its dimensions and aspects. If there is no gap or separation between who I really am and who everyone else really is and what everything else really is, then it really is futile for me to resist anyone or anything because it is like looking in a mirror and denying and resisting the image that I see reflected back to me as not me, or as unreal in a fundamental way. It is insane to deny that there is any truth to my perceptions whatsoever.

I am very excited about the “occupy” movement that has swept around the world. It is powerful sign of the massive and unforeseen changes that are sweeping the planet and that will continue to grow and accelerate over the coming years.

One thing that I would like to share with everyone, no matter what percentage of the world’s population they think they represent, that we are all part of the 100% of cosmic life. There is no gap or separation between what we identify as being ourselves and what we perceive as any kind of separate other. Separateness is an illusion of particular interpretations of sensory inputs. It has very little to do with what is ultimately true and real.

What does being part of the 100% of all life mean to me? I am responsible for everything I perceive, because for me to perceive it, makes me one with it. If I were not one with it, I would not be able to perceive it. And so I am responsible for every single percentage that exists. What is would not be if I were not able to perceive it as I perceive it. In some interpretations of quantum mechanics the “observer” causes what is called the “collapse of the wave function,” meaning that it may be human decisions that cause things to appear as they do, and this means everything, including any perceptions of problems that come into our awareness.

Whether we see it yet or not, we are not separate. We are not at war. There is no real conflict. There is only the illusion of these things. The pain and suffering caused by these incomplete perceptions of conflict will eventually lead us to perceive more and more clearly.

We are one. If I perceive a problem, there is no one to blame. Yet I choose to perceive that I am responsible, even if I do not fall within certain percentages quoted by people to differentiate themselves from other people. I am one with Life in all of its forms, including humanity. In my experience accepting anything less than this will lead to suffering not only for me but to further infliction of pain upon everyone and everything else through indulging in the illusion of the reality of my false or incomplete perceptions.

Let us recognize our deep unity. Let us perceive what is not being perceived right now and what has not been perceived very well for a very long time. As we do so, everything will be transformed. As we do so, peace will be the norm, life will flourish, and the deep unhappiness that has taken possession of so many people will be erased like a virus-infested computer file that has possessed  our species and caused us to to repeatedly crash our civilizations over and over again throughout recorded and unrecorded history. When we accept what is real and lasting, what is false and temporary will fade away.

I am the 100%. I am 100% responsible. I am the I am.

The other day, I heard the humorist, Trina Hess www.yourshiningexample.com. We had a great conversation about the relationship between humor and detachment. In order to find the humorous in the most challenging circumstances, we must achieve a certain level of detachment.

When it comes to our interpretations of our own lives. Most of us are way too serious most of the time. We are so hard on ourselves and other people. Judging ourselves and others does nothing but show us that we are not accepting things as they come to us. Seriousness about ourselves shows us that we are filtering our internal and external perceptions through outdated, automatic fear-based programs and habits.

Most people most of the time approach life from a fear-based perspective, and from that perspective seek to control people and circumstances to reinforce their unconscious control addictions. Whenever we are dealing with addictions, things get really serious. When we release our fears, we can release our unnecessary seriousness and experience reality as it presents itself to us. This is much more fun than having uncsconsious programs running our lives that are bent upon seeking out our next fix in a vain attempt to satisfy a deeper need.

There is a wonderful richness to our experience when we accept everything as it is instead of resisting what we perceive and imagine. Being serious has its place in the world. I am not a fan of continuous silliness and frivolity, because sometimes taking something seriously helps people to better focus their energies.

Whether our lives in any moment appear to be  a comedy, drama, adventure, tragedy, or action story, is up to us. It all depends on where we put our focus. Look within for the interpretive frameworks that are making your life appear to be whatever it is. May you comes to experience live to be abundant in all of the best things!

People talk all of the time about how people are dealt various hands in life. In the past I might have resisted that analogy because it tends to reinforce a random view of the cosmos.

Today I’m going to embrace the metaphor and take it to the next level. I’m going to leave how we get the cards we get out of this equation and start this story at the hand that is in front of our faces.

Whatever cards you are holding, however you feel about them right now, they are not the determining factor of your life. What determines your life is the Love you choose to accept and the love you choose to share. Maybe you have interpreted that you have a really crappy hand. Maybe you have that hand so your partner can “go alone.” Maybe you have the hand so that other people can have the perceptions that they need to have to discover the truth for themselves. Maybe you have that hand so that you can discover that Love Trumps Everything. It is the ultimate power in the game of life. It is that which puts all things in their proper perspective.

It is that which has the power to transform the appearance of a crappy hand into a gift for everyone sitting around the table.

Play! Have fun! Enjoy the ride! How can we do these things? Because we can trust that Love is running the show, despite all of the appearances to the contrary? Love makes us all winners, all teammates, all players, all lovers, all members of the same club.

Who you really are is your gift to the world. Allow your passions to guide you in applying your super powers for the betterment of the world, and you will find that there is nothing that will be able to stop you from making a huge difference for a whole bunch of people.

For a long time, I was addicted to self-help books. As someone who has completely and fully recovered from this way of being, I’d like to share some thoughts with you here.

The self-help addiction can manifest itself in many different ways. Here are a few hints that you may need some help in this area:

• Reading lots and lots of self-help books (usually more than one at the same time!)
• Attending seminars, workshops, presentations, and classes hoping that the final piece will miraculously fall into place and help you make sense of your entire existence
• Stalking the self-help, psychology, religion, and new age aisles of book stores on a regular basis
• Indulging frequently in rescue fantasies

• Recognize that you have an opportunity for learning, growth, and development.
